to Your Pressing Questions

How Much is MBCR’s Medical Bill Advocate Costs?

Our medical bill advocate services begin with a budget friendly fee based phone consultation. Together, we decide on the best option for your situation.

OPTION 1A: One time 15 minute phone consultation: $ 14.99 / per 15 minute block

This option is ideal for a single medical bill or insurance problem. (But, you can schedule a back to back session if you feel your situation will take longer than 15 minutes!) Please have your bill, insurance explanation of benefits, notes, and steps taken to date ready for discussion. We will help you figure out the next actions and provide guidance to achieve resolution on your own. We love hearing how YOU resolved the issue so be sure to send us  your follow up story!

OPTION 1B: PAA Basic Plan Subscription: $ 29.99 / month

This option is ideal for those with multiple medical bills month after month. Please have your bill, insurance explanation of benefits, notes, and steps taken to date ready for discussion. We will help you organize and figure out the next steps for any medical bill and insurance claim issues. This plan is based on a predetermined number of phone consultations per month. We provide recommendations on actions you can take to resolve the issue. If additional research or other actions are required by MBCR, additional fees are determined on a case by case basis. You will know in advance and can decide if you want to utilize our services further or continue on your own.

OPTION 2: You may prefer MBCR to take over for you. Together, we determine if the benefit outweighs the approximate savings cost for you to hire MBCR to resolve your medical bill or insurance claim headache. Fees are determined on a case by case basis. You will know in advance and can decide if you want to utilize our services further or continue on your own

What Kind of Information is Needed to Dispute My Medical Bill?

We will need a copy of your medical bill, information about what you’ve paid already, and access to your medical records. We will also need your insurance explanation of benefits forms, as well as information on the steps you’ve taken so far to resolve the issue. Overall, before we can start working on your case, you’ll have to grant us permission to speak with your doctor and insurance company.

How Long Will You Retain My Information for the Medical Bill Dispute?

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to dispute your surprise medical bill. We will retain and use your information only as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreement.

Will My Information Shared with You to Resolve My Medical Bill be Confidential?

We strictly adhere to the confidentiality regulations mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All of our staff are trained in these privacy policies and others, as required by law. So, you can be assured that your medical information will be used within the context for your case such as disputing your bill or appealing your claim. You can check out a list of all of your protected information on the US Department of Health and Human Services website.

What is Your Privacy Policy for Assisting With a Medical Bill?

We respect your privacy and guarantee that it will be protected at all times. We will never disclose or share your personal information or medical records with a third party. Upon your request or at the conclusion of our relationship with you, we will return or destroy all of your personal information. For more in-depth information, click here to read our privacy policy.

Is There Anything Else You Can Help Me With?

Yes! If you are a "solo ager" (ie over 50+, lives alone, no partner or children to turn to), we can assist you as a proxy support system by functioning as a navigator to translate information and create planning steps that may be overwhelming to you now. This could be navigating the medical system, helping find specialists, asking questions and discussing options, coordinating between agencies, finding community resources and just figuring out what to do, complementing your overall planning team. We do not make medical decisions, prescribe or diagnose. We do respect your privacy and guarantee that it will be protected at all times. We will never disclose or share your personal information or medical records with a third party without your written consent. Upon your request or at the conclusion of our relationship with you, we will return or destroy all of your personal information. Book a consultation by clicking here.
